The Rally Raid Experience
This version of the Tabua Deluxe trip is for 3 types of riders:
- Riders who own a light travel enduro (Husqvarna 701, DRZ400, XT600,etc…) and want to take it up a notch.
- Riders who just bought an enduro bike and want to improve their skills at an easy pace
- Riders who are new to enduro and want to get the taste on one of our rental bikes
For riders with enduro experience we advise the Tabua Deluxe - EnduroTabua Deluxe 2023 Enduro with R4 Moto’s version as this will be more challenging.
This Rally Raid Experience is the perfect combination for those who want to improve their skills but who also want to have fun in doing so and enjoying the scenery while at it. With a guide from our own crew at your side and assistance always close by, we will assist you through various kinds of terrain and help where needed with tips and tricks.
The right motorbike for the trip:
- Light travel Enduro (max 180kg): Husqvarna 701, KTM 690, DR650, DRZ400, NX650, XT600, KTM 640, etc..
- For novice enduro rider: Husqvarna/KTM 125/250/300/350/450/500/501
- On one of our rental bikes: Husqvarna/KTM 250/300/350 EXC
R4 Moto's - Official Husqvarna Dealer - is joining us
R4 Moto’s is the place where Marijn, the organizer, is working as a mechanic. With his boss joining him on this adventure, they'll be able to give you an even better technical assistance and more specific advice. Although Husqvarna is our house brand, we welcome every brand of motorcycle as we all share the same passion and that is riding motorcycles!
Our Base Camp
At the centre of this journey is hotel Quinta do Rabaçal, a small piece of heaven next to the Mondego river, completely off-grid. Run by Peter, a true biker in heart and soul, this quinta or farm is the perfect place to rest after a long day on the bike. Onsite you have a 300 square gym/yoga area by the river, BBQ area, cocktail bar and chill out space, mountain bikes and kayaks/paddle boards, a large infinity pool with outside jacuzzi, spa suite with wood fired sauna, as well as an underground bunker club for parties and film nights. And check this, we have the whole site for ourselves! No better place to crack a beer by the campfire after a long day riding!
Transport
Motorbikes will be transported from Ghent (R4 Moto’s) to our hotel in Portugal and back. Loading and transportation is done by our own team. We have the capacity of 2 x 13 bikes. Transport and insurance is included in our prices!
Event schedule:
Day 1
Arrival at Porto Airport – Transport with private shuttle bus to Quinta do Rabaçal – Small introduction of the team – Dinner.
Day 2
Breakfast. Track to Caldas de Sangemil (local hot springs). Relaxed ride of about 80km’s to get used to the terrain. Finishing the day at the bar/pool - diner – relax time at campfire/bar.
Day 3
Lunch in Cepos at 750 meters high with an impressive 360° view on the Serra. Descending back down in the afternoone towards to hotel to relax at the bar/pool area - diner - relax time at campfire/bar
Day 4
A visit to the chist Village of Piodão. Once an ideal location for fugitives from justice because of the remoteness. We’ll climb up to 1250 meters before our lunch in the town center of Piodão. Through the hills back to Tabua. Finishing the day at the bar/pool - diner – relax time or small party as next day is a rest day!
Day 5
Rest Day. Possibility to visit the Roman ruins in Bobadela and the Spa in Oliveira. Time for maintenace on the bikes and a maintenance of the body/massage at the quinta. Finishing the day with diner – relax time in the jacuzzi or at the bar area/fire place.
Day 6
Start of our 2-day trip to Manteigas in the highest mountain range on Portuguese mainland, the Serra da Estrela (stars). Riding through the foothills to Seia to have lunch. Scenic views while climbing up the serra to Manteigas. Where your luggage will be waiting for your arrival at a local hotel. Diner in the city center.
Day 7
What goes up must go down. Descending south from the serra where the highest peak, the Torre (2050m) is located. So expect panoramic views while going down. Lunch at the waterfalls of Barriosa and by Oliveira to back to Tabua. Chilling at the pool/bar area - diner - party to celebrate the our final evening together at Quinta do Rabaçal
Day 8
Breakfast - Cleaning the bikes at the quinta - Lunch - Shuttle bus towards Porto – Flight back to normal life!
